Did a quick redesign on the website with photography by the amazing Heidi Ryder. Go thank her for me by visiting her site and hiring her for all of your portraiture needs.
Purveyor of sheer awesomeness.

Sigh. I apologize for disappearing into Twitter. It's tough, because it's so much easier to jot down thoughts than it is to write something substantial. So, here's quick recap of what's what in the land of Fialkov.
Tumor - huge production and printing problems have knee-capped the book. We're hoping to see it released sometime next month, which, considering Noel, Rob, and I turned in a final version sometime in October is a bit horrifying. I wish there was something I could do to get it out, but, alas, it's been out of my hands for quite a while, and there's not much I can do about it. In the meantime, I hope you're following Noel's new blog at http://www.noeltuazon.com.
Fialkov/Ekedal Book - Rahsan and I have a new book that's compeltely written and about 2/5ths drawn. It'll be released/announced by Top Cow, hopefully later this year. It's a serial killer book, and in a lot of ways, I feel like it's a spiritual sequel to Tumor, although, technically, it's set in the same world as Elk's Run. This is not noticeable by anybody but me. Yet. Follow Rahsan's amazing work at both his portfolio site and his blog. Rahsan, you'll remember, drew The Cleaners from Dark Horse which had my name on it despite my not working on it that much at all. He also drew The Crazies issue that I wrote that came out last month.
Fialkov/Fleecs Book - Coming 2010/2011 from Oni Press. This is a Sci-Fi Comedy that's sort of a cross between what the amazing Mr. Fleecs does and what Kody and I do on Punks. It'll hopefully wind up being one of those manga style long form series that everybody goes all ga-ga for. It's been a blast collaborating with Tony on it, and I think that really comes through in the script and art.
Fialkov/Tuazon Book - It looks like Noel and I may try to raise some money to do our third book via Kickstarter. I have a couple of projects in mind, including the long gestating Three Rivers, a non-zombie zombie book, or possibly a Y.A. horror/adventure book I've been working on. More to come.
Upcoming Appearances: This weekend I'll be at Wondercon, signing at Top Cow from 12-2 on Saturday and the early afternoon on Sunday. I'll also be spending time at Rahsan's table in Artist Alley. I'll also be at the kickass Isotope Party Saturday night.
Following that, it looks like I'll be at C2E2 in Chicago, theoretically with advance copies of Tumor on hand. Will confirm once we're a little closer. Then, of course, you'll be able to find me at San Diego Comic Con, and, in October, at Long Beach Comic Con.
Life Changing Stuff: For those who don't follow me on Twitter or Facebook, Christina and I are having a baby girl. She's due in June, and we couldn't be more excited. There'll be more on her pretty soon.
And that's that. I'm hoping to start posting and talking at length about what I'm working on and what's going on in my life a bit more, and I apologize for the absenteeism.
I've been voraciously devouring manga for the past few months, and I figure, I might as well let people know what I like and don't. So, I finally started using the Goodreads.com account, and started cross posting them. Disregard if you don't give a shit. Hooray!
Be digested daily. Rather than getting 300 updates a day, there'll be one long one every night with whatever rambly bullshit I do.That is all.
Added an Events page listing upcoming appearances, etc. Hooray!
For various reasons, it was time to restart the blog under a new url. I also added in a handy dandy entry page, that'll have the important stuff going on for me in easy linkable form... Eventually, I'll add a small store interface, so you can buy the stuff that's long out of circulation, as well as signed versions of a few of the books.
If there's anything that's not working right, let me know, so I can fix it.
Did a quick site redo, cause it's about time. I think it's pretty cool, nice and simple, and has one of my favorite panels from the Punks Christmas Special at the top. It's been a strange couple of weeks. Had a few projects that were going along swimmingly get all but halted due to the writer's strike, but, it's a good cause, so that's cool. Married life is tops, and we've been settling into it swimmingly. Chrissy has been devouring Gilmore Girls in preperation for the final season's release today, so, it's been great getting to watch it all again (and really quickly). It's just really one of the most heartfelt, beautifully written shows in a long, long time. Combine that with making my way through the Complete Angel box set, and I've been knee deep in great TV. Great TV that makes me want to make TV.
Punks Christacular will be in stores in a few weeks, and it's easily the best thing to ever have my name on/in/near it. It's a really exceptional book, and it's mostly owed to Kody. I believe my Marvel Comics Presents story is due out any week now, as well, and it's super awesometastic.
And that's pretty much that.
I've been supporting a mailing list of about 400 people for the past few months using Gmail. It became too much. I'm moving it all over to the software on my server. So, please, go and join via the link over there.
A bunch of people e-mailed me about the eye thing mentioned in the Newsarama interview, so first off, thanks for all the concern. That interview was actually done nearly three months ago, and although I'd like to say there's been some progress on that front, there hasn't been. It seems I've developed some sort of opathamalogical neurological problem that gives me persistent double or triple vision and chronic incapacitating migraines. I'm actually typing this through cloudy eyes with one of the worst migraines I've ever had, so please forgive the typos (although,I think I'm pretty good). As some of you know, I'm also Diabetic, and eye problems for diabeticscan be severely dangerous, so, despite the lack of insurance (until recently), I've been extremely diligent about seeing doctors and treating the problem. Interestingly, my mom had a disease known as kerakatonis in her twenties which struck her temporarily blind, until she could have a cornea transplant. The doctors have ruled kerakatonis out as a possibility for my problems. They had also diagnosed it as Serous Retinopathy, but that also turned out to be wrong.
I've managed to stay more than on top of my freelance, thankfully, and wit the TV movie's first draft wrapping up and about to be turned in, it looks like we'll be okay financially for a little while. I have some fancy brand new health insurance, finally, as well, and that has started me back with a general practitioner, who's going to aggressively help get to the bottom of the problem.
So, in other words, it sucks, but I'm okay. I have good and bad days, but, it's being treated, and I'm still able to work as needed, so everything is on schedule.
Except for Three Rivers. And again, this is why. It'll be back on track soon, I swear.
Just moved all of the sites into this one. So, welcome to the new site, yada yada. Update your links, also yada yada.
So if you readon a feed come look at it. It's hideoustastic.
It's been a hellaciously busy couple of weeks, apologies for the lack of communication. Thanksgiving was great, nice and relaxing, and I've been working my balls off between day job and creative stuff. Judging by where things stand now, the creative works going to continue to be a big demand, and there should be some announcements fairly soon on that front.
The Hoarse and Buggy site's been down for a while now, and my programmer is completely incommunicado, so I'm not sure when it'll return, or in what form. I've been too busy trying to meet deadlines to actually sit down with Chris and figure it all out.
So, apologies for the short update. I'll have pictures of Christina and I at Hearst Castle in the next day or so uploaded, so keep 'em peeled.
Things are INSANE right now. Trying to get work done, got the move this weekend, and, I'm literally running as fast as possible to try and keep up. These are the days we tell stories about forever.
Hopefully be 'round more next week.
Ha! I added a little Audio Player plugin that makes it so you can listen to all of the tracks in the blog. No more navigating away and breaking my heart.
The Punks Site Got Hacked Apparently, the Turkish Islamic Seperatist Movement understands the importance and scope of Punks the Comic. Soon, we hope to announce a publisher who agrees with them.
About Punks.
Not about the seperatist stuff.
I've had a cold for the better part of two weeks. It got progressively worse and worse, starting as a little allergy type thing, to right now where I can hardly breathe. So, yeah, forgive the not posting. I don't want to get snot on my computer.
I'm going on a bit of a personal retreat for the next 9 days or so. So, I'm doing my best to stay offline. I'll be in Des Moines, Iowa, visiting my folks, and trying to bang out these last few scripts that've been hanging on longer than they should. So, play nice, and I'll be back soon.
After a couple more hours of dicking around, I think the site's all set now. Let me know if anything's wrong or not working or causing you to hemmoraghe out your nose.
Have some design work to do, but all the code etc. seems to be intact. Post in the comments if anybody sees anything that doesn't seem to be working.
Hey Gang, in case you didn't notice, I picked up from Blogger and moved over to Word Press. Should have it straightened out in a week or two, cause, damn am I slow at coding and tremendously busy these days.
